Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
SplitPerk runs the marketing site at splitperk.com and the product at splitperk.app, including the apps and the merchant portal. This policy says what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions go to hello@splitperk.com.
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email and/or phone number, a password stored as a hash, username, profile photo, preferred currency, and language.
- Optional details you choose to add: a city, and payment handles (such as a UPI id or Venmo name) so people can pay you.
- Group content: expenses, splits, comments, reactions, settlements, budgets, and photos you attach.
- Merchant accounts: the business profile, staff, locations, deals, and the redemptions those deals record.
Information from using SplitPerk
- Receipt scanning reads the total on your device. We don’t send the photo away just to read it. If you attach the photo to an expense, that file is stored so the group can open it.
- Location is used only when you look for nearby deals, and only if you allow it. It sorts distance. It is not a product we sell.
- If you turn on notifications, we store a push token for that device. We also store a last-seen time.
- Where card pay inside the app is offered, Stripe processes the card. SplitPerk does not store your full card number.
How we use it
We use this information to run the ledger, show balances, send sign-in and invite messages you trigger, deliver SplitPoints and deals, let a merchant verify a redemption, and keep the service reliable. Merchant analytics describe that business’s own deals. We do not sell personal information.
Who can see it
- People in a group can see that group’s expenses, comments, and balances.
- Payment handles are shown to people who can pay you.
- A merchant sees the redemption you present at their counter, not your whole ledger.
- We use providers to host the service (in the United States), deliver email, send push notifications, and process card payments. They handle data only to do that work.
How long we keep it
We keep account and ledger data while the account is open and the group still needs the record. In the app you can export your data, including a spreadsheet of your expenses. Deleting your account removes your sign-in details, username, photo, city, and payment handles, and signs you out. Your name on shared expenses becomes “Deleted user”, so the rest of the group’s balances still add up.
Children
SplitPerk is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email hello@splitperk.com and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. The current version is always this page.
