Terms of Use
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms cover the SplitPerk websites (splitperk.com and splitperk.app), the SplitPerk apps, and the merchant portal. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
The service
SplitPerk keeps a shared ledger for a group: expenses, how they were split, and who still owes whom. Members can earn SplitPoints and redeem deals at participating businesses. SplitPerk is not a bank, a wallet, or a party to the debts between people in a group. Those debts stay between the people who incurred them.
Accounts
Most of the product needs an account. Give accurate contact details and keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account. Someone can add you to a group before you join; you can claim that place from the invite. You can also join from a link before you finish setting up.
Expenses and balances
A split can be equal, by percentage, by shares, by custom weights, or itemised from a receipt. Balances are calculated from what the group entered. Check them. If a figure is wrong, edit the expense or talk to the person who added it. SplitPerk does not decide disputes between members.
Payments
Settling up usually opens a payment app you already use — UPI, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal and others — or records that cash changed hands. Where paying by card inside SplitPerk is offered, Stripe processes the card payment and pays the person you owe. SplitPerk does not hold those funds and does not store your full card number.
SplitPoints and deals
SplitPoints are a thank-you for activity in the product, such as settling and inviting friends. They are not money, have no cash value, and cannot be sold or transferred as cash. We may change how points are earned, what a deal costs, or whether unused points expire. A deal is an offer from the business that listed it. That business is responsible for honouring it. Points are spent when the business verifies the redemption.
Merchants
A business that lists deals agrees to verify redemptions in the merchant portal and to honour the offers it publishes. We may refuse or remove a listing that is misleading, or that honours deals without verification.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse SplitPerk. That includes breaking the law, scraping or probing the service without permission, uploading anything you don’t have the right to share, harassing someone, or using the ledger to mislead a person about a debt.
What you add
You keep ownership of expenses, comments, and photos you add. You give SplitPerk permission to host that material and show it to the people the product is built to show it to: your group, and a merchant when you redeem a deal. Photos you attach to an expense are stored so the group can see them. Reading a receipt to fill in the total happens on your device.
Stopping
You can stop using SplitPerk at any time and delete your account in the app. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. The Privacy Policy explains what deletion changes on a shared ledger.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. If you keep using SplitPerk after an update, the new terms apply. If a local consumer law gives you rights that cannot be waived, those rights still apply.
